The Ask

Rover asked us to reinvent a visual approach for social media ads.

They had historically relied heavily on their branded green and hadn’t done too much testing of animation. In addition to looking for increased performance, the Rover team was also looking to us to help them create assets for testing.

The Solution

Pet Portraits: We tested a variety of single pet images mixed with Rover doodles and different colored backgrounds as well as a grid-style asset featuring even more cute.

Color Pops: Instead of solely relying on the Rover green, we pulled colors from their extended palette to create ads that felt lively and fun.

The Solution

Motion: Mixing doodles, pet portraiture, and lifestyle imagery with sleek motion made these Rover ads pop in social feeds.

Messaging: We added some fun bits of copy, but in general kept messaging simple to ensure our audience understands Rover services quickly and easily.

The Results

The new assets reduced Rover’s cost per acquisition by 36% – a primary KPI for the client.

These assets reduced Rover’s cost per booking by 48.4%, bringing this metric well below the client’s benchmark for this KPI.
