Seattle Tattoo Expo has been the premier tattoo exhibition in America for the past 20 years. They came to Auxiliary to help refresh their overall brand identity and annual festival.

We knew we needed to design something that celebrated the rich history of the expo and felt familiar to the renowned artists and tattoo community who show up year after year. It was also important for us to design something that could complement any style of art, as each year the Seattle Tattoo Expo features a different artist and piece of art.

The Outcome

We developed a new logo and brand identity that feels both modern and timeless, nodding to both block printing and simplified sailor tattoo stylings. We wanted a minimal wordmark and flexible design elements that allows each year’s theme and featured artist to shine through.
